Candlelit Dartmouth

November 27th – 28th 2015

One of the highlights of the winter season, Dartmouth’s candlelit Christmas procession is well worth a visit as part of a Christmas holiday in South Devon, and gives you a chance to experience the homely and friendly way we celebrate the festive season in this part of the world. So if you want to ‘rediscover Christmas’, head for Dartmouth this Yule.

The lanterns are made from paper and have a beautiful effect when projected by candlelight. Winding through the narrow ancient streets, the procession creates a wonderful atmosphere and charm that’s unique to the town. During the evening Father Christmas will arrive in the town by boat and hand out gifts to children.

Events at the 2014 Candlelit Darmouth included Christmas market, entertainers and musicians, carol singing with the BRNC Volunteer Band and choir, official switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights, Santa arrives by boat, and Christmas shopping.
