Roly’s Fudge in Bakewell, ‘The Ancient Capital of the Peak District National Park’ opened in the early autumn of 2014 and has been settled in the heart of the town ever since.

Bakewell is a market town settled in the heart of the Peak District, and well known for being the hometown of Bakewell Pudding, as well as having associations with the Bakewell Tart. It is nestled between the cities of Sheffield and Derby, and also lies in close proximity to the towns of Matlock, Chesterfield and Buxton.
In a recent chat with Greg, he fondly reflected on the time he first opened Roly’s Fudge Bakewell:
“I remember my first day in my first store. I’d shipped my mum over from Northern Ireland for support, and she was frantically packing boxes whilst I was working the till. It was Good Friday, and I remember looking up and seeing a queue out of the door, and feeling a huge wave of relief. That feeling that you chose your location well, and that everything is going to be okay was just wonderful. My mum is such an inspiration to me, and having her there just made it a really special moment.”

With Bakewell’s sweet history, the shop has become the home of a Roly’s Fudge traditional flavour, Cherry Bakewell Fudge. We sell it in small and large gift boxes, which make the perfect gift alternative to the traditional pudding.
Roly’s Fudge Bakewell makes traditional fudge freshly every day in the window of the shop. You can come by and watch the team cook the fudge, pour it on the marble slab and cut it into slices while it’s still warm.

You can buy it loose from the counter or you can order it in a selection of gift bags and boxes. The most popular flavour at the store is the Cherry Bakewell Fudge, but you can also try traditional Roly’s favourites like Vanilla Clotted Cream Fudge.
The Cherry Bakewell Fudge has been recently improved to make it even more delicious than ever and using the very best of natural ingredients, using almond essence, real cherry juice, and freeze-dried cherries.
