Roly’s Fudge Bowness-on-Windermere opened in July 2016. It is the second new shop to open in the Lake District, the first one being Roly’s Fudge Keswick which opened earlier the same year.
The shop is open every day of the week (see opening times below for full details) and is based on Ash Street at number 6A. Come and visit to try some handmade fudge made using real butter, milk and sugar. All our fudge is made every day in the shop.
The shop is the fourth shop for Guy and Greg, who also own Roly’s Fudge Pantries in Bakewell, York and Lincoln. You can find out more about why they got involved in Roly’s Fudge here.
The shop is settled in the heart of the town Bowness-on-Windermere, famous for its position on the banks of Lake Windermere. The town is close to Kendal and to other sites such as The World of Beatrix Potter, half way between Waterside at the north end of the lake and Lakeside at the south end. The town is well known for sailing and watersports, as well as being the centre for outdoor activities in the UK.

“I am always slightly nervous to enter small, independent shops for fear the staff will suddenly hound me and make me feel pressured into buying something but that wasn’t the case at Roly’s. My partner and I were greeted as we entered but then were able to browse with no hassle or pressurising. When I did have a query the staff were quick to help and extremely pleasant.
As for the fudge itself, its certainly not the cheapest you’ll find but the quality is outstanding, I picked the chocolate fudge and it was so crumbly and delicious. We are only in Windermere this week but will almost certainly pop back in to try more flavours.”
