“I found Roly’s Fudge when I was dragged off Lincoln Steep Hill by two guys… I’m now a fan of salty fudge. Who knew?”
Roly’s Fudge Lincoln was opened in 2013 by Guy and Greg. As can be seen in the top comment, visitors to the shop will know Guy and Greg by their passion for fudge and their insistence that any passerby comes in to try it!
Greg says their best selling flavour is Sea Salt Fudge – by their own marketing of it. “Guy and myself are massive fans of Sea Salt fudge, so readily promote this to what are often slightly dubious customers. As a result, this particular variety has somewhat of a cult following in Lincoln, with several customers repeat purchasing to get their weekly hit – you all know who you are!
“We really enjoy exposing visitors to new flavour combinations, and are always eager to experiment ourselves. Fudge of the Week, is a big deal here in Lincoln, being announced to our Facebook followers weekly, so tune in!”
Roly’s Fudge Lincoln is based on Steep Hill. Steep Hill was named ‘UK Street of the Year’ in 2012 despite its ‘breathtaking’ steepness, meaning that most visitors are ready for some fudge following their uphill climb! Roly’s Fudge Lincoln can be found where Steep Hill meets Castle Square, sandwiched between the neighbouring Cathedral and Lincoln Castle (which houses one of only 4 surviving copies of the Magna Carta).
What’s on at Roly’s Fudge Lincoln?
Roly’s Fudge Lincoln at Christmas – Lincoln hosts the largest Christmas market in the UK, a four day long event. The shop is open until 10pm every night, and is so busy that a stand will also be outside so customers can easily grab their fudge fix.
Top Flavours at Roly’s Fudge Lincoln
Personally we’re a big fan of Strawberries and Champagne Fudge, a limited edition fudge at Roly’s Fudge Lincoln! The shop is full of little champagne references so this flavour, one of the first to ever be made at Roly’s Fudge Lincoln, is just perfect at the shop.
The shop makes many of the Roly’s Fudge traditional flavours, along with a host of limited edition flavours depending on the season. Try a taster when you’ve reached the top of Steep Hill as a celebration!
