Roly’s Fudge have introduced an award winning lactose-free vegan fudge, adapted from our traditional crumbly fudge recipe.
Now in 2023, we have updated these flavours to remove the soya milk – these are Vegan Salted Maple & Pecan Fudge, Vegan Vanilla Fudge and Vegan Chocolate Fudge.

Since its release in early 2018, the new multi award-winning lactose-free range has taken the UK by storm, and is available in most Roly’s Fudge Pantries across the country as well as online!
How is it made?
Roly’s Fudge was established on a traditional family recipe that has been passed down through generations, made using artisan fudge making methods. We have always been proud of our fudge being made with real butter, milk and sugar, with all of our fudge pantries striving to source this as locally as possible.
This was one of the most important aspects when considering how to make a lactose-free and vegan fudge flavour – how to retain this crumbly, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
After months experimenting and researching, we finally mastered our crumbly fudge recipe – using coconut oil with finest cashew butter. The recipe was revised in 2023 to remove soya milk.
Originally we planned to make one lactose-free flavour, but after experimenting with three fantastic flavours, we decided to release several!
We wanted this to be a fudge for everyone – one that is available for those with lactose intolerance, but still being made by hand in our Roly’s Fudge Pantries.
No accreditation is better than from the Vegan Society itself, so we worked hard to make sure all our ingredients were vegan friendly, from the sugar in all of our fudges to the maple syrup! We even researched into whether monkeys were used to harvest the coconuts in our organic coconut oil!
This accreditation is proudly displayed on all of our cello bags, and we also have Vegan Society stickers on all of our boxes – so you can be sure when you’re eating this fudge flavour that you’re eating vegan fudge.
The packaging is brand new for vegan and lactose-free flavours only, with a rustic buff brown and light green using paper that is sustainably sourced.
Our vegan fudge is available in almost all Roly’s Fudge Pantries.
On our Stores page we list whether the Roly’s Fudge Pantry produces lactose-free fudge. However, as it’s a slightly tricky fudge to make (we have a dedicated ‘lactose-free’ day for cross contamination purposes!), sometimes it may be sold out before they have a chance to restock – so always get in touch with your local Roly’s Fudge Pantry first before planning a special visit.
If you can’t get to a store, we have vegan fudge available on our online store in a selection box or in single flavour boxes.
