If you’ve read our blog post on becoming plastic-free, you’ll know that at Roly’s Fudge, we are keen to help people make better choices to cut out plastic.

One of the easiest changes you can make is to stop buying plastic water bottles and use your own reusable one instead.

In the UK we have some of the highest quality drinking water in the world – and it’s from our taps. Therefore, we think it is important to support organisations who aim to reduce plastic pollution by encouraging people to refill their bottles instead.

Roly’s Fudge are excited to announce our support of the Refill Revolution!

The majority of our pantries are part of the Refill scheme, meaning that anyone can use our Refill stations to fill up their bottle on the go.

Sadly, almost half of the 7.7 billion plastic bottles that the UK use each year aren’t recycled and around 15 million plastic bottles are littered, landfilled or incinerated every day – ending up in our natural environment and polluting our oceans. Visit https://refill.org.uk/the-problem-with-plastic/ to learn more.

There are now over 100 Refill schemes across the UK. You can easily find Refill stations via the app or website and you can even start your own scheme in your area if you think you can help.

Water UK’s Chief Executive, Michael Roberts said, “As an industry with a strong focus on the environment, we are passionate about tackling the problems caused by plastic bottles, which clog up rivers and drains and pollute our seas. By refilling water bottles, we can all help turn this harmful tide of plastic waste.”

The objective of Refill is to stop millions of plastic bottles at source each year and prevent plastic pollution by making reusing a bottle simpler than buying a new one. We love the ethos of this organisation and couldn’t be happier to support this movement.
