It’s with immense excitement to announce the latest Roly’s Fudge Pantry opening in the heart of Canterbury!
Not only that, but we’re like to introduce a new family to the wider Roly’s family – Mary, Steve and Nina, who are opening their first Roly’s Fudge Pantry after many years of searching for the right location.
The trio have been trained in the ways of fudge and are all set to open this weekend at Mercery Lane, a stone’s throw from the cathedral.

“Steve and I first discovered Roly’s fudge during a holiday to Salcombe about 7 years ago…
“Since then (much to the mystification of our daughter Nina) we have been obsessed with the idea of running our own shop, and buying bagfuls of our favourite treat at every opportunity.
“Nina said she “didn’t like fudge” until we took her to the Arundel rolys and she actually tried some “proper” fudge. From that moment, all three of us were hooked and Nina was now 100 % on board with our dream of being Roly’s franchisees.
“It took us a long time to find the right location and make the difficult decision to give up our jobs, move away from our family and friends in Hampshire and setup our shop in the centre of Canterbury near the famous cathedral gates. The locals and passing tourists have been very friendly and anxious to know what new business will soon be opening in the street.
“We have been frantically decorating in the shop and Steve, a carpenter for 40 years, has been putting his skills into action.
“The shop is almost ready now and, although it’s been very hard work, the excitement of the looming opening date has kept us going. Myself and Nina are hoping that our fudge making will be much better than our painting and decorating!!
“All three of us have well and truly stepped out of our comfort zone with this new venture but we know that together, as a family, we can make it work and forge ourselves a fun and successful career in “fudging”.
The shop will be opening at 10 Mercery Lane Canterbury CT1 2JJ with the starting opening hours of 10 AM – 5 PM (Sunday 10AM – 4 PM).
